Volker Weininger - Der Sitzungspräsident - Filmriss

Life is good for the Sitzungspräsident: he slipped away from the morning pub session at 7 p.m., got re-elected at the annual general meeting with 104 percent of the vote, and a long-overdue promotion is finally waiting for him at work! If only he knew where he put that blasted school-leaving certificate he still needs for the application. It has to be in the box down in his cellar bar - that's where he keeps everything: certificates, unpaid bar tabs, diplomas, medals, photos, love letters, parking tickets, his first Kölsch glass from his communion - basically his entire life. So the Präsi sits down in his cellar bar, cracks open a beer and starts searching. As he rummages through the box, all those stories and memories come flooding back - things he might have forgotten without the box: first day of school, first Kölsch, first kiss (all on the same day!), wedding, kids, club trips and, of course, Hermann, his friend who operates permanently at the lower limit of human intelligence.

In his second solo show, Volker Weininger keeps the Kölsch and the punchlines coming thick and fast. As the Sitzungspräsident, he takes us on an autobierographical journey through his eventful life. Many people assume a man like that must have always been president. Not quite: until the age of five, he was only the deputy chairman! And that is just one of many surprising revelations the Sitzungspräsident coaxes out of himself over a glass of Kölsch. And the more beers, the more memories. Some things he can no longer recall with any precision - Filmriss, a blackout. But thankfully there is the box, and the odd eyewitness who can fill in the gaps. Still - where on earth is that certificate?
