90er Nächte - Girlgroups, Gameboys, Tamagotchis

Mobile phones are the latest craze, gaming consoles are taking over teenagers' bedrooms, and no one leaves the house without a Gameboy or Tamagotchi.
At TV channel ARF, presenter Peter Planken and producer Harald are planning a new talent show: "Deutschland sucht die Popstars!"

Teenager Stephanie is fed up with her boyfriend Lukas - his band leaves him with barely any time for their relationship. Her mum Doro and grandma Maria do their best to cheer her up, while her friends Lena and Lara make sure there's never a dull moment. Stephanie signs all three of them up for the TV show's casting, and the new girl group soon discovers that not everything at the broadcaster is above board.

Lukas' band plays their first gig and promptly gets cheated out of their fee. Grandma Maria steps into the chaos - will everything work out in the end? Schlager and rock, boy bands and girl groups, the biggest hits of a decade - welcome to "90er Nächte - Girlgroups, Gameboys, Tamagotchis".
