If there were a decathlon of cabaret, Helge Thun would probably be the Olympic champion - or at least the district winner.

As a magician he has won more awards than he can count, as a poet he became German Team Champion in Poetry Slam, and in theatrical sports he learned the craft of improvisation early on. He invented three successful show formats: Reim gewinnt, Comedy Stube and Tauschrausch. For 20 years he was the driving force behind one of the most original comedy duos, Helge und das Udo. Add to that TV formats, radio columns, books and other stage programmes such as Der Schöne und das Biest with Heiner Kondschak or Funny Magic with Topas.

And all of this just to get to the top by the most roundabout, zigzagging route possible!
