Hans Werner Olm — "Zum deutschen Hause", Beelitz

The title HATTA comes from one of his most famous TV and stage sketches. It describes a massive, ungainly character with smelly feet and minor, shabby character flaws, marveling at a limousine he cannot afford.

Olm has achieved everything in the literal sense of the word: a certain dignity, humour full of wisdom, and solid self-assurance. With this programme, he wants to take his audience on a journey that reaches the very boundaries of existence - relaxed and laid-back, musical and recitative.

Hatta is a metaphor for self-respect, resilience, and the necessary faith and acceptance of life as it is. A stoic principle guides him: it is not external circumstances that make us helpless and fidgety - and which we cannot control anyway - but usually the destructive interpretations of our thoughts about them.

His fans make pilgrimages to theatrical temples of the stage and enthusiastically celebrate the master of polished rudeness. Olm makes no effort to be liked. It is pure and authentic. He cultivates qualities that in today's smoothed-over world are considered an anarchic art form in the positive sense.

His example shows that the Pavlovian reflex effortlessly transcends all social boundaries. His performances carry tremendous, life-changing energy.

Hatta? He's got it!
