Rising

Six female voices from the American ensemble Lyyra present an impressive sonic spectrum and repertoire - from William Byrd's Renaissance music to contemporary soul and pop arrangements of songs by Stevie Wonder, Billie Eilish, and Laura Mvula. The programme "Rising" brings together works from different centuries, styles, and cultures - from the Renaissance to the present day. Ancient and modern soundscapes, sacred and secular themes enter into dialogue, demonstrating how music creates bridges across time, genre, and language. The pieces speak of community, hope, freedom, and compassion, reflecting how choral music unites people - emotionally, culturally, and humanely.
