As Franz Josef Strauß and Erich Honecker, the two cabaret giants from Munich and Dresden already created a brilliant duo in "SchleichFernsehen". Under the programmatic title "MIR san MIR ... and us too!" Helmut Schleich and Uwe Steimle promise a cabaret experience of a special kind at the border.

During their Bavarian-Saxon friendship evening, the two cabaret artists wander along linguistic boundaries, push through clichés and discover surprising similarities as well as remarkable differences between the stubborn inhabitants of both free states. They immerse themselves in the depths of German self-awareness, uncover the secret of dialectical dialectics and conclude: people are people. Of course, unusual insights into both the Bavarian and Saxon folk soul emerge. But beware! Such a research journey into homeland raises complex and disturbing questions: What does homeland actually mean? What role do Catholicism and Protestantism play? Why does the Saxon see the world "fourschbar"? Is the Bavarian saying "ja, mei ..." actually a world formula?

Helmut Schleich is one of the most prominent figures in the German-language cabaret scene. He has become especially beloved as a brilliant political cabaret artist and host of his own show "SchleichFernsehen". Whether on stage, on radio or on TV - Helmut Schleich takes on cherished prejudices, dangerous half-truths and comfortable ignorance. His solo programmes have been awarded, among others, the German Prize for Small Arts and the Bavarian Cabaret Prize.
