To close their anniversary year, the Birnauer Kantorei performs Mendelssohn Bartholdy's great oratorio on the life and mission of the Apostle Paul - first performed in 1836. The work traces, in scenes both lyrical and dramatic, the persecution of Christians by Saul and the martyrdom of Stephen, the Damascus experience and conversion, the missionary journeys among Jews and Gentiles, and Paul's final journey to Rome. Romantically harmonised chorales, powerful choral movements and deeply felt arias place Paulus among the most significant oratorios in music history.

Admission: Category I 42.00 € | Category II 35.00 €

Concessions: pupils and students up to age 27 pay 10.00 € on presentation of valid ID (limited availability). Federal volunteers and people with severe disabilities receive a 50% reduction; where the ID carries the note "B", the reduced price also applies to the accompanying person. If no valid proof can be shown at the door, the difference must be paid.
