Aron Boks was born in 1997 in Wernigerode and works as an author, slam poet, and moderator in Berlin. In 2019 he received the Klopstock-Förderpreis for new literature. Since 2021 he has written primarily for taz and the taz.FUTURZWEI column "Voice of My Generation". In 2023 his book "Naked in the GDR" was published, in which he traces the life of his great-uncle, artist and functionary Willi Sitte. The book received significant media attention.

Aron Boks himself never experienced the GDR. The research and work on the book meant for him an entry into a deeper engagement with German-German history and its significance for the present day. In 2025 "Starkstromzeit" was published - a search for traces of his grandparents' lamp design and traces of the GDR in his growing up.
