Concert: Film Music in Trio Format

Pieces like "The Pink Panther", "Solo Sunny" or "Once Upon a Time in the West" - usually heard in orchestral or big-band arrangements - sound surprisingly different when played by violin, double bass and guitar, with two vocal voices added to the mix. They reveal a side of themselves you rarely get to hear.

d r e i f a r b e n b l a u from Dresden performs well-known and lesser-known works from the history of film music in an unusual line-up, moving between tango, classical, swing, jazz and related styles. Film imagery also has its place in the programme - not as video clips, but as poetic scene descriptions that interweave with the music and bring the film moments to life in the listener's imagination.
