Dresdner Kreuzchor - Concert at Dorfkirche Cunewalde
Dorfkirche Cunewalde, Germany
19.75 €
The Dresdner Kreuzchor is one of the oldest and most renowned boys' choirs in the world. Its history reaches back to the earliest mentions of Dresden in the early 13th century. For over 800 years, one of the choir's principal duties has been to sing in the liturgical services of the Kreuzkirche at Dresden's Altmarkt. There the choir performs at vespers and services, and regularly gives concerts featuring outstanding works of sacred music. These form the core of its repertoire and express the choir's Christian-humanistic tradition.
Beyond its formative role in Dresden's musical life, the city-supported choir has been touring throughout Germany and beyond Europe's borders for nearly 100 years - to Israel, Canada, Japan, South America, Korea, China, and the USA. It represents the Saxon capital as its oldest cultural institution on nearly every continent and recently debuted at the Shanghai International Arts Festival and jointly with the Saxon State Kapelle Dresden at the Salzburg Easter Festival.
After 34 years, it returns on 3 October 2026 for a concert at Germany's largest evangelical village church in Cunewalde.
