Misery - based on the novel by Stephen King

Paul Sheldon is a successful author, best known for his romantic "Misery" novels featuring the glamorous serial heroine Misery Chastain. When he crashes his car in a snowstorm, his biggest fan Annie Wilkes comes to his rescue - and he wakes up badly injured in her home.

Annie is obsessed with his books, but rather than nursing him back to health, she terrorises him: she is outraged by his latest work and horrified by the ending of the last "Misery" novel. She forces him to write a new manuscript that gives Misery Chastain a twist she approves of.

Paul has no choice but to comply - yet Annie's swings between adoration and violence grow ever more sudden, driving events toward a dramatic conclusion.
