Misery - based on the novel by Stephen King

Paul Sheldon is a famous writer whose romantic "Misery" novels have achieved enormous success. The glamorous Misery Chastain is the central character. After a car accident during a snowstorm, Paul wakes up in the home of his greatest fan, Annie Wilkes, severely injured.

Annie is a passionate admirer of his "Misery" books, but instead of rest and recovery, Paul becomes the victim of her terror. She is unhappy with his latest, modern work and shocked by the ending of the last "Misery" novel. She forces him to write a new manuscript that will give his beloved character "Misery Chastain" a happy resolution.

Paul reluctantly sets to work, but the violent swings between adoration and terror escalate - leading to a dramatic climax.
