A Hole Is Usually Round — Schaubude Berlin, Berlin

Ages 4 and up

florschütz & döhnert set out to uncover the secret of holes - and end up making quite a few themselves. The more holes appear, the more possibilities open up. "Ein Loch ist meistens rund" is poetic theatre with plenty of sound and music, almost no words, and a playful sense of humour around sensory illusions. The show runs 40 minutes and contains no spoken language.

In 2025 the piece was revised and expanded with an artistically integrated audio description. florschütz & döhnert collaborated with pupils and teachers from the Marie-und-Hermann-Schmidt-Schule, the Brandenburgische Schule für Blinde und Sehbehinderte, and blista, the national competence centre for people with blindness and visual impairment.
