Don Giovanni Gala - Highlights from Mozart's Masterpiece

For many, it is the opera: with Don Giovanni, Lorenzo da Ponte and Wolfgang Amadé Mozart created the archetypal seducer of opera history - a dazzling, darkly complex figure surrounded by richly drawn characters who fall under his spell in very different ways.

In a gala concert of the highest order, Thomas Bauer, Lenneke Ruiten and Daniele Terenzi join the Hofkapelle München under Rüdiger Lotter to bring Mozart's music to life in all its dramatic force and emotional depth. The programme features the famous overture alongside selected arias, duets and ensembles from Don Giovanni, with the ballet music from Mozart's Idomeneo as a striking counterpoint.

The extraordinary setting of the Markgräfliches Opernhaus in Bayreuth lends the evening a singular atmosphere.
