Markgräfliches Opernhaus Bayreuth

Bayreuth, Germany

About the venue

The Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth is one of the best-preserved baroque theatres in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012. Built between 1745 and 1748 by the court architect Giuseppe Galli Bibiena for Margravine Wilhelmine of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, it seats around 500 guests. The richly decorated interior - with its painted wooden galleries and ornate stage tower - still hosts opera performances and concerts today.
