Saiten Poesie - An Inspiring Concert Experience

Composition prize winner Volker Luft presents his concert programme SaitenPoesie at the Old Town Hall in Laufen. The starting point is the interplay between lyric poetry and music: poems by Edgar Allan Poe, Herman Hesse, and Federico García Lorca inspired Luft to create his own compositions, which have been published internationally and awarded a grant from the Ministry of Culture.

The programme combines guitar arrangements of works by Bach, Beethoven, and Kreisler with flamenco, blues, African music, klezmer, and tango. The concert is complemented by a moderation that illuminates the connections between the compositions and the poetry of García Lorca, Poe, Rilke, Hesse, and Goethe.
