Erich Kästner - "Die 13 Monate" Set to Music - Palaiskonzert Zabeltitz

Concert as part of the "Palaiskonzerte Zabeltitz" series - featuring poems, texts and anecdotes by and about Erich Kästner.

"Die dreizehn Monate" is Erich Kästner's final poetry collection: originally commissioned by "Schweizer Illustrierten", published as a monthly series between 30 December 1952 and 7 December 1953, supplemented in 1954 with a poem for the thirteenth month, and published in 1955 by Atrium Verlag Zurich as a book. Norbert Fietzke has set this cycle to music; the programme is based on the first edition of the collection.

The concert is presented by the duo "con emozione": Liane Fietzke (vocals, reading, moderation) and Norbert Fietzke (piano). Both studied at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Academy of Music in Leipzig, with further studies in Cologne and Weimar; today they live and work in Havelland.
