The Night of Fate

An opera spectacle by Frank Matthus and Axel Poike

For the 20th anniversary of Synchrontheater, the two Netzeband theatre-makers have devised something out of the ordinary: the masks are to "learn to sing". Their SONGDRAMA format makes the leap into opera - and the manor park itself becomes the stage.

In the dramatic scenario, a new hotel is to be built on this very site; trees are to be felled, nature and art swept aside in the name of profit. But as old certainties begin to crumble, the park stirs: trees start to sing, the graves of former counts buried beneath the amphitheatre open up, and figures from the past lament their fates in arias. The theatre spirits are unsettled too - and it may well happen that one or another character from Milchwald suddenly reaches for the high notes...
