"HÜTTENKÄSE"
This show has long since become a cult favourite - some audience members are coming back for a fourth or fifth time. The premise: three drop-outs on the Camino de Santiago, trapped in a mountain hut during a thunderstorm. No mobile signal, no Wi-Fi, but plenty of time: a teacher who can't stand children, an eccentric vicar, and a forty-something apparently sent on a hiking trip by his health insurance. In their search for the meaning of life, they first run into a barrage of verbal sparring in very close quarters.
Does a person share some guilt if their workplace produces something used in weapons? How do you raise children who are allowed to have their own opinions - but preferably without talking back? And how does this whole talking-to-each-other thing actually work?
A wonderfully topical chamber play featuring Beate Laaß, Alexander Pluquett and Mario Grünewald, written by Philipp Schaller and Michael Frowin.
