Conductor: Frauenkirche Cantor Matthias Grünert
This concert shines a light on two exceptionally rare gems of late Romanticism: Ludwig Thuille's Romantic Overture and the Mass in C major by his composition teacher and predecessor at the Munich Conservatory, Josef Rheinberger. Rheinberger's other pupils include names that now far outshine his own reputation: Max Bruch, Engelbert Humperdinck, Richard Strauss, and Wilhelm Furtwängler. A rare chance to hear this "missing link" of music history performed live!
