Student Mike is looking for a roommate for his one-room apartment. Surprisingly, three candidates have applied, and he has invited them to view the place. There's Paul, an insurance agent; Gus, a true goth; and Marvin, a retail salesman. But all three have the same problem: they show up to the interview with their mother. Or rather - their mother shows up with them. And all three mothers refuse to let their sons go without a fight. Chaos ensues. Prejudices, misunderstandings, and aversions clash openly. To make matters worse, all the applicants have lied. Paul is a true mama's boy, Gus poses as a world-weary freak, and Marvin is still involved with a butcher. In the end, Mike's mother Elisabeth appears as a saving angel.
