Klaus is considered a simpleton - everyone laughs at him and mocks him. When he shares his meager bread and water with an old man in the forest, he receives the golden goose as a reward: whoever touches it out of greed gets stuck to it.

Meanwhile, the king desperately seeks someone who can make his daughter laugh - promising the princess and half his kingdom as a reward. The bizarre chain of people stuck to the golden goose does exactly that. But the king refuses to keep his promise, and Klaus must pass three more trials.
