Artistic director Alina Gause steps into this new production as writer and songwriter. In her solo music-theatre evening, the Berlin native turns her gaze on her home city - with a critical eye, a sense of humour, and real affection. What drives Berliners' deep love for themselves and their city? How does the rest of the world see it? What was life like with the Wall - and what really happened on 9 November 1989?
In her autofictional stories and songs, Berlin is neither a glittering metropolis nor the subject of quaint tavern ballads - it is a state of mind, a conviction, a way of feeling alive. After the premiere, the press wrote: "An evening that comes highly recommended, with genuinely good entertainment." (Die Welt)
