Artistic director Alina Gause steps before the audience in this new production of Diva Berlin as author and songwriter. In her solo music-theatre evening, the Berliner turns her gaze on her home city - critically, humorously, and tenderly all at once. What lies behind Berliners' deep love for themselves and their city? How does the rest of the world see it? What was life like with the Wall? And what really happened on 9 November 1989?

In her autofictional stories and songs - which capture the wit, the violence and the pulse of the city - Berlin is not a glittering metropolis or the subject of picturesque tavern songs, but a state of mind, a conviction, a way of life.
