Big Band Bad Bevensen - From Glenn Miller to Duke Ellington

Since 1987, Big Band Bad Bevensen has enriched the cultural life of the region. On Friday, 26 June, at 19:30, you can hear the orchestra live at the Kurhaus.

The ensemble was founded by Mathias Torp, who for many years conducted the orchestra with great dedication and left a lasting mark on Bad Bevensen's musical landscape. His musical legacy and passion for swing continue to live on in the Big Band under its new conductor.

In a formation of roughly 20 musicians, people from different professions have found a shared love of jazz. Every two weeks, the musicians gather to perform their diverse repertoire with joy and devotion.

At the heart of the programme are the great classics of swing - including original arrangements by legends such as Duke Ellington, Neal Hefti, and Glenn Miller. Authentic big band sound and compelling rhythms create a magical concert evening.

Among the highlights in the orchestra's history are vinyl and CD recordings as well as appearances on NDR radio and television broadcasts.

Look forward to an evening full of swing, Latin music, and rock, but above all - passion and living big band tradition.
