In "The Birds", Greek choreographer Lenio Kaklea turns her gaze skyward. Drawing on Aristophanes' "The Birds" and Monique Wittig's "Les Guérillères", she approaches birds not as mere objects or a source of imagery, but inhabits their perspective. Kaklea and her dancers move through space and time like migratory birds crossing borders without a second thought.
The soundscape is built from bioacoustic recordings by Thierry Aubin. From this bird's-eye vantage point, Kaklea asks sharp questions about identity, visibility and power in contemporary society.
