The fantastic operetta "Frau Luna" by composer Paul Lincke is a true milestone of Berlin operetta. First performed in 1899, it has delighted audiences ever since. In a Röttingen version reworked by the musical director of Frankenfestspiele, we can now relive the wondrous and highly entertaining journey to the moon for Paul Lincke's 160th birthday: with hits like "Das ist die Berliner Luft, Luft, Luft", "Schenk mir doch ein kleines bisschen Liebe" and "Schlösser, die im Monde liegen", everyone will have a wonderful time with this magnificent story.
Mechanic Fritz Steppke is very interested in aviation and extraterrestrial beings. So he builds a hot air balloon for a grand trip to the moon. After a successful journey with his best friends Lämmermeier and Panneke, and unexpectedly with his landlady, the widow Pusebach, the travelers discover that the moon is purely an amusement park. At lavish celebrations of the remarkable lunar society, there are countless romantic entanglements. Then the balloon bursts, and a return to Earth seems impossible...
Off to the moon! There awaits us singing, dancing, and very earthly turbulence, just as colourful as here on our home planet. A musical treat you won't want to miss!
