The Servant of Two Masters - Carlo Goldoni

A young couple is to be married for profit. The bride was already promised to another, but he has died. Yet suddenly the man everyone thought dead reappears, and everything becomes confused. In the middle of it all stands a servant who is always hungry and believes he earns far too little. So he secretly accepts an offer to serve a second master. To manage this, the servant piles lie upon lie - but at least he has enough to eat. Moreover, one of the servant's masters is not a man but a woman in disguise. And her beloved happens to be the servant's other master. This other master is on the run because he is accused of a murder he did not commit. The whole thing could end very badly, but it doesn't. On the contrary. Love triumphs. And the servant is forgiven everything.

The staging of this world-famous and refreshingly youthful comedy from 1746 creates a magnificent theatrical spectacle on the Kreuzgang stage and at the same time crafts a love drama that touches us deeply.
