Street Art in Gießen - Murals between Dream and Reality

Three street art festivals between 2017 and 2019 left Gießen's city centre with a sprawling open-air art gallery. It is complemented by the RIVER TALES project, launched in 2012 by the local collective 3Steps at the bridges over the Lahn river - since then, international artists have been adding their mural paintings there.

Many of the works are tucked away, since the available walls are in side streets and courtyards. The walk leads to these spots, takes in older murals along the way, and tells the stories behind the historic street names.
