Hella Jongerius: Whispering Things
14.03.2026 - 06.09.2026
For over 30 years, Hella Jongerius has been among the most influential figures in contemporary design. Her groundbreaking works span textiles, ceramics, furniture, lighting, and sculpture. Through her research-driven design approach, Jongerius has become a model for an entire generation of young designers. This exhibition is the first retrospective of the Dutch designer's complete body of work, showcasing her collaborations with Maharam, KLM, Camper, and Vitra. The archive of her design studio JongeriusLab has been housed at the Vitra Design Museum since 2024. The objects and documents contained there offer insight into Jongerius' working methods, her multifaceted thinking, her passion for craft processes, and her deep engagement with materiality and the symbolism of things. Her devotion to craftsmanship and colour always goes hand in hand with a clear awareness of the bigger picture.
The exhibition is supported by global sponsor Maharam, sponsor Camper, and the IKEA Foundation.
Opening hours: 10.00-18.00 (24.12. 10.00-14.00). Ticket valid for the whole day.
