Misery - based on the novel by Stephen King

Paul Sheldon is a successful writer, known for his romantic "Misery" novels featuring the glamorous character Misery Chastain. During a snowstorm, he crashes his car and is rescued by his greatest fan, Annie Wilkes. Paul awakens severely injured in her home.

Annie is an enthusiastic reader of his books, but recovery is far from her mind. She terrorizes Paul because his latest novel disappointed her - the ending of the last "Misery" book shocked her deeply. She forces him to write a new manuscript that gives Misery Chastain a happy ending.

Paul reluctantly complies, but the oscillation between adoration and terror becomes increasingly violent and drives toward a dramatic climax.
