Ahrenshooper Social Club XXL
Anniversary programme for the 25th birthday of the jazz festival

For this milestone, the founder and artistic director of the "Ahrenshooper Social Club", pianist and composer Lutz Gerlach, has put together something truly special. He wants to look back - and forward - at the highlights of the past 25 years, and has invited some of his favourite musicians to join him.

Among them: Canadian guitarist and vocalist Dave Goodman with his band "Kaisers New World". Accordionist Valentin Butt will celebrate the instrument of the year 2026, while the duo "Dean" (Oli Bostroem and Dirk Lorenz) will pay tribute to jazz singer Roger Cicero on the tenth anniversary of his death.

New to the "Club" is the distinctive string quartet "Die Nixen", and the wonderful singer Claudia Wandt joins - for reasons well beyond gender balance. Pianist Ulrike Mai has been part of the project from the very start and, as always, brings a special classical touch to the evening.

As a grand finale, the musical director will attempt to bring 25 musicians onto the stage at once to mark the anniversary with a single shared song. A concert full of premieres, unlikely to happen again in this form - unique in the truest sense.

Festival wristband and discount information:

The ticket price includes a jazz festival wristband granting access to all festival concerts (except the festival tent at Evas Sommergarten). You can collect your wristband at the entrance on presentation of your ticket, or in advance at the Kurverwaltung Ahrenshoop. For concerts on the main stage in the tent, an additional seat ticket is required. Be sure to check the option of purchasing a full festival ticket!
