Under the motto "Loblied des Tanzes" (Hymn to Dance), the TangoNacht/Neustadt klingt event takes place at St. Nicolai Church in Magdeburg.

Renowned Paris-based composer and pianist Gabriel Núñez wrote "Loblied des Tanzes" specifically for this occasion, scored for an unusual combination of solo soprano, choir, organ, piano, bandoneon, xylophone and strings. Driven by the raw energy of tango, with passion and a jazzy pulse, the music moves between moments of exuberant, dancing joy and passages of deep tenderness.

After the concert, the square in front of the church becomes a large open-air dance floor. In the mood of a summer night, everyone is welcome to dance tango to the live music of the tango orchestra.
