LÉLÉ - by Sathyan Ramesh
Theater Rüsselsheim, Germany
37.1 €
A reading piece by Sathyan Ramesh featuring Julia Jäger and Matthias Habich.
"Lélé" is a fictional correspondence between two people who could not be more different. An elderly widower thanks someone for an internet order - a custom-made dog collar with the embroidered name "Oskarla". The reply comes unexpectedly from a woman imprisoned in a correctional facility who made the collar as part of the internet initiative "Mit Haftung".
What begins as a formal exchange soon becomes something more. Two distinctive characters share their thoughts without ever directly addressing their mutual sense of loss or confinement - yet it remains constantly felt. The piece was written literally for Julia Jäger and Matthias Habich. They are appearing together on a theatre stage for the first time - after decades in which they wrote history separately: with classics such as Fritz Umgelter's "Die merkwürdige Lebensgeschichte des Friedrich Freiherr von der Trenck" and Detlev Buck's "Karniggels", on stages from Vienna to Leipzig, with Oscars for "Nowhere in Africa" and "Toy Land" and together in the television epic "Klemperer - Ein Leben in Deutschland".
