In the productions of the queer folk theatre group Nesterval, audiences follow individual characters through a series of scenes - like on a nested film set, the storytelling moves through different narrative strands and spaces. Binge-watching for theatre, from close range.

For the first time in Berlin, the Vienna-based group develops a site-specific work for Sophiensæle: Nestervals Eldorado. At its heart is the queer history of Berlin's Scheunenviertel district and the area around Sophiensæle during the Nazi dictatorship. Inspired by the biographies of gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans* people who were systematically persecuted and murdered, Nesterval interweaves fiction and reality into a moving narrative.

A production by Nesterval in co-production with Sophiensæle. Based on a co-production with brut Wien. Supported by Kulturstiftung des Bundes, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media, the Federal Ministry of Housing, Art, Culture, Media and Sport (BMWKMS), the City of Vienna, as well as the Dr. Horst Rusch Foundation and the Between Bridges Foundation. Media partners: Missy Magazine, Siegessäule, taz, Yorck Kinogruppe.
