Berlin, Germany
Sophiensaele is an independent theatre and performance venue housed in a late-19th-century craftsmen's guild hall in Berlin-Mitte. Since the 1990s it has been a key stage for contemporary dance, performance art, and experimental theatre, hosting both emerging and established artists from Germany and abroad. The building's historic rooms - from the grand ballroom to the smaller side halls - give productions an intimate, raw character.
