Season Opening 2026/27

David is actually a pianist - he took the part-time caretaker job at the music academy mainly for the health insurance. In the midst of a midlife crisis, he mourns his former successes. Ben is at the beginning of his career and plays trombone at a level that wins every competition. Finn on drums leaves the others speechless with his sticks. By chance, they meet the caretaker while changing light bulbs - they would never have imagined he could play piano.

The older musician takes them to a performance to prove himself. Afterwards, all three decide that David should show them what freelance musician life really means: nursing homes, shopping centres, weddings. David has the contacts, the trio finds its rhythm - a journey through swing, evergreens, musicals, jazz and film music, from cruise ship to musical on land.

For the season opening 26/27, Theater Am Spalterhals first presents the new programme of the season before David, Ben and Finn take the stage.
