In 2026, the "Glasperlenspiele" festival turns a new page with an evening devoted entirely to the art of song. In the Aula of her hometown Calw, artistic director Christine Rahn joins mezzo-soprano Luzia Ernst for a journey through German and American vocal repertoire. The first half balances depth with regional flavour: Samuel Barber's celebrated "Hermit Songs" paired with Hesse-settings by Lukas Haug, a composer from the Swabian Alb. After the interval, the mood lifts - Kurt Weill and William Bolcom's sharp-witted Cabaret Songs close the evening.
