In 2026, the "Glasperlenspiele" festival turns a new page, dedicating an entire evening to the art of song. In the Aula of her hometown Calw, artistic director Christine Rahn joins mezzo-soprano Luzia Ernst for a programme spanning German and American vocal music.

The first half pairs Samuel Barber's celebrated "Hermit Songs" with Hesse-settings by Lukas Haug, a composer from the Swabian Alb. After the interval, the programme shifts to the sharp wit of Cabaret Songs by Kurt Weill and William Bolcom.
