Lulu Mimeuse
Muuh!-Veranstaltungszentrum, Barsinghausen, Germany
LULU MIMEUSE is a dazzling stage persona - a diva in every sense: glamorous, eccentric, with a smoky voice and a healthy dose of self-deprecating wit. For over ten years, this artistic creation of Lüneburg actor and singer Philip Richert has delighted audiences with programmes that are as entertaining as they are musically accomplished. The repertoire spans timeless chanson and song classics alongside surprising reinterpretations. Works by icons such as Marlene Dietrich, Édith Piaf, Zarah Leander, Ella Fitzgerald, Hildegard Knef, Georg Kreisler and David Bowie are delivered with a style entirely Lulu's own.
What truly sets the evening apart, though, are the stories between the songs: sharp, charming and never quite suitable for younger ears. LULU MIMEUSE holds court with tales of a turbulent life in showbusiness, past love affairs and alleged encounters with the biggest names on stage - always with a wink and a generous helping of cheek. The art of travesty is not merely celebrated here but filled with life, voice and personality. The result is an evening of glamour, humour and musical depth that manages to both move and amuse.
