A new political-satirical cabaret programme for the 2026-2027 season

Once we had nothing. Out of control.
Now we have everything. But nothing under control.
Politics used to be the art of solving problems.
Now it looks more like the art of renaming them.
A tax hike becomes a "revenue-side adjustment measure".
Debt becomes a "special fund" and the arms industry becomes the "defence economy".
Everything is out of control: public spending, rents, infrastructure, waiting times for a doctor's appointment, the culture of debate...
But somewhere there's always someone standing in front of a camera saying: "We'll manage". It increasingly resembles someone falling from the tenth floor who shouts from the fifth: "So far everything is going according to plan". A plan nobody knows. Because plans are yesterday. Today there's an app that outsources the problems to the cloud - that is, to cloud-cuckoo-land - before it crashes.
But let's be fair. Not everything is out of control. Our democracy is stable. Every four years citizens get to decide afresh who they want to be disappointed by.
So Germany is a country where almost everything spins out of control - except politics' firm conviction that it has everything under control.
