FreiKultur 2026 presents special film experiences in the courtyard of CD-Kaserne, supported by Sparkasse Celle - Gifhorn - Wolfsburg.

In the enchanting courtyard of Celler Kulturzentruma, audiences experience true film classics over eight evenings. Guests can settle into deckchairs, picnic benches, or bring their own picnic blankets and enjoy this unique cinematic experience.

During World War II, American expatriate Rick Blaine runs a popular bar in the Moroccan city of Casablanca, where refugees await their chance to travel onward. When his former love Ilsa Lund suddenly appears with her husband, a wanted resistance fighter, Rick is confronted with his past. Caught between old feelings and a dangerous political situation, he must make a choice that determines love, loyalty, and sacrifice.

Guests are welcome to arrive early and settle in comfortably. The courtyard opens to the public 30 minutes before the start. Plenty of seating is available, including deckchairs, picnic benches, and folding chairs.
Picknic baskets with food are welcome; beverages are available on-site, so please refrain from bringing your own drinks. CD-Kaserne staff will remind guests of this during the event.
