Symphony Concert

The Student Symphony Orchestra Baden-Württemberg presents itself in the 2026 project under the direction of Christoph Wagner with a programme of three Romantic works - all in E minor.

The opening features the Overture op. 23 by Louise Farrenc, which combines classical form with Romantic expression. This is followed by the rarely performed Double Concerto op. 88 by Max Bruch for clarinet and viola, with soloists Annika Kurz (clarinet) and Raphael Kübler (viola).

The finale is Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 op. 64, which spans a wide arc from its dark opening to a triumphant conclusion.
