Just a few notes are enough to recognise Prokofiev's musical fairy tale "Peter and the Wolf". The Winterbeker Kammerorchester from Kiel - joined by wind and percussion players - performs the work at the Michaeliskirche in Kaltenkirchen, with a narrator delivering the text in Loriot's version.

After the interval, the Octet in F major by Heinrich Hofmann follows, scored for flute, clarinet, horn, bassoon and strings. This four-movement piece impresses with its sensitive handling of the individual instruments and an almost orchestral richness of sound.
