"Goodbye" is a solo by choreographer and dancer Nitsan Margaliot, drawn from his own family history. His grandfather fled Chemnitz during the Holocaust to Palestine/Israel and later changed his name from Adolf to Abraham - a name that lives on in Margaliot's middle name, Avraham. Margaliot himself took the reverse journey and spent years living in Germany; in this piece he searches for a reconciliation with that past.

Moving between memory, absence and the present, "Goodbye" weaves choreographic material together with poetic language and archival fragments.

HELLERAU - Europäisches Zentrum der Künste is a historic arts centre in the garden city of Hellerau, Dresden's first garden city district. The Festspielhaus, built in 1911 by Heinrich Tessenow, was originally home to the Dalcroze Institute and became a pioneering stage for rhythm, dance and theatrical reform in early 20th-century Europe. Today it hosts contemporary dance, performance, theatre and interdisciplinary festivals, drawing artists and companies from across the continent.
