Bernd Glemser

Exactly 20 years ago, Bernd Glemser began his role as Permanent Artist in Residence at the Klosterkonzerte - and his chamber music week has since become a cornerstone of the festival. Each year he invites fellow musicians to play together in the Laienrefektorium. Among the companions of the past two decades are Mirijam Contzen, the Gewandhaus-Quartett, and clarinettist Dimitri Ashkenazy.

The opening concert of this anniversary edition is a solo recital: the programme features Haydn's Andante con variazioni, Beethoven's Piano Sonata op. 109, and Impromptus, Nocturnes, Mazurkas and Ballades by Frédéric Chopin.
