Bernd Glemser & Mirijam Contzen

For the second concert of his chamber music week, Bernd Glemser has invited violinist Mirijam Contzen, with whom he has already given several duo evenings in Maulbronn. Together they trace a path from Viennese Classicism to Romanticism.

The programme opens with Clara Schumann's Three Romances, followed by Gabriel Fauré's Sonata No. 1 in A major op. 13 - a work of French chamber music that blends lyrical warmth with virtuosic brilliance. After the interval, Ludwig van Beethoven's Sonata No. 9 in A major op. 47 takes centre stage: the famous Kreutzer Sonata.
