Christoph Kramer, the 2014 World Cup-winning footballer, discusses his second novel "Wolkenberührpunkt". Following the success of his debut "Das Leben fing im Sommer an", which immediately topped the Der Spiegel bestseller list, Kramer returns with a new story.
The novel tells of a man standing at the threshold of a new beginning. The protagonist is a former footballer who encounters a boy named Roman. This meeting changes everything - Roman is connected to a mysterious "Wolkenberührpunkt", an old mast where one can be so close to the sky that wishes can be shouted into the world. It is a story of two vastly different lives: a World Cup champion and a boy who never had a home.
The author discusses how to move from a successful debut to a new book and how to write after the end of his football career. Christoph Kramer, born in 1991 in Solingen, is a footballer, television expert, podcaster, and author.
