The Altonaer Theater is a privately run spoken-theatre house in the Hamburg district of Altona, founded in 1895. Its programme centres on accessible, popular drama - comedies, family shows and literary adaptations - drawing a broad local audience. The historic building seats around 500 and has been one of Hamburg's most continuously active neighbourhood theatres for well over a century.
