About the venue

The Calwer Klostersommer is an open-air summer festival held among the ruins of Kloster Hirsau, a Benedictine monastery near Calw in the northern Black Forest. The monastery dates back to the 11th century and its atmospheric stone walls form the backdrop for theatre performances, concerts and cultural events each summer.
