The monastery of St. Peter and Paul in Hirsau, a district of Calw, is one of the most significant Romanesque ruins in southwest Germany. Founded in the 11th century, it became a major centre of the Hirsau Reform movement, which shaped Benedictine monasticism across the region. Today the atmospheric ruins host open-air concerts and cultural events in summer.
