Goldschmiedekapelle St. Anna

Augsburg, Germany

About the venue

The Goldschmiedekapelle (Goldsmiths' Chapel) is a late-Gothic side chapel inside the church of St. Anna in Augsburg, built around 1420 by the goldsmiths' guild. It houses remarkable early Renaissance frescoes and serves as one of the finest examples of guild patronage in southern Germany. The church complex as a whole is closely tied to Martin Luther, who stayed here in 1518.
