The Kreuzkirche is Dresden's largest and oldest parish church, standing on the Altmarkt since the 13th century in various forms. The current late-baroque and neoclassical building dates from the late 18th century, rebuilt after repeated wartime destruction. It is home to the Kreuzchor, one of Germany's most renowned boys' choirs, and regularly hosts organ concerts and sacred music events.
